Can I use my DMT lapping plate to level my Arkansas stone?

You can use the DMT Lapping Plate for Arkansas stones.

Arkansas stones both black and translucent are much harder than standard water stones.

As such, expect it to take a bit longer to flatten than normal.

It is important to use the same pressure and continually bath the stones as they are flattened.

As long as you are not using unnecessarily hard pressure it won’t damage the stones.
