The ANSI Z308.1-2015 standards introduce two classes of first aid kits. The class is applicable to the contents of a first aid kit.
Class A:
These are kits with contents designed to deal with most
common types of workplace injuries.
For example, office, home and school environments or other situations with everyday first aid requirements.
Class B:
These are kits with a broader range and quantity of supplies to
deal with injuries in more complex or high-risk environments
For example, certain construction or job sites may have a higher likelihood of serious injuries beyond everyday first aid.
Both Classes have a specific list of requirements in order to be compliant:
Some of our kits are Class A+ or Class B+.
The plus indicates if we have extra components in the kit beyond the list that is strictly required to meet that ANSI 2015 Class rating. Often these extra components are commonly used first aid items that are frequently requested to be included in our standard kits. These will still be compliant to the Class they rate as.
First Aid Only has a handy ANSI Block emblem marked on most of our ANSI 2015 kits and cabinets as well as on product listings on our site and catalog, which makes it easy to identify the Class:
